General Inquiries

For Researchers

Are you conducting research in music education, pedagogy, or learning sciences? The Vivek Project through its association with Oclef Inc. maintains extensive data about student lessons, progress patterns, teaching methodologies, and learning outcomes.

We welcome collaboration with researchers who are interested in:

  • Analyzing teaching effectiveness and student progress metrics
  • Understanding learning patterns and breakthrough moments
  • Studying pedagogical approaches across different compositions
  • Examining the relationship between student variables and outcomes

Contact us at info@oclef.com to discuss access to additional data for your research project.

For Contributors

Are you a piano teacher interested in documenting your own teaching journey? We welcome contributors who wish to showcase their own Vivek Project—documenting the progress of their students from first lesson through mastery of pieces.

Project Requirements:

  • Video documentation: All projects must include comprehensive video documentation of lessons and practice sessions
  • Student-focused: Videos should capture the student's learning process and progress over time
  • Minimal teacher demonstration: Teachers should focus on instruction and guidance rather than extensive playing demonstration—the emphasis is on how students learn, not teacher performance
  • Consistent documentation: Regular recording throughout the learning journey, from initial introduction through final performance

Contributing to The Vivek Project means joining a community of educators committed to transparency and continuous improvement in piano pedagogy. Your documentation will help teachers and students worldwide understand what effective learning looks like.

Whether you're a researcher, teacher, student, or simply passionate about piano education, we'd love to hear from you. Together, we can make piano learning more transparent, effective, and accessible.
