Stage 2 students are caught between being competent and self doubt.  As they play harder and harder pieces, some students lack the confidence to discuss their education with their professors.  They will only do what they are told and nothing more.  This leads to inefficient lessons.  It is important to recognize  when a student is bored and empower him to take control of their own education.
